The RYA's Powerboat Level 1 is designed as a brief one day introduction into powerboating, ideal for children between 8 and 12 who are not able to take the Level 2 course.

It covers basic boat handling skills, and allows essential knowledge to be gained without the commitment to a full 2 day course.

Pre Requisites:

• Minimum age 8
• Under 12s will receive the following endorsement on their certificate "The holder should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult on board the craft."
• 12 - 16 year olds will receive the following endorsement on their certificate "The holder should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult."

The number of course participants is guaranteed to be 3 or less, allowing for more individual attention from the instructor.
